Mariateresa Sgarra, Service
Raised in a family of farmers, Mariateresa has always had a love for high-quality products and an innate passion for hospitality. After 16 years working in cafés, gastronomy, and Michelin-starred restaurants, she decided to fully
dedicate herself to the Cumà project, putting warmth, care, and attention for every guest at the heart of her work. Today she oversees service, prepares everything related to the café, and guides customers in the shop with smiles, advice, and genuine warmth, turning every visit into a unique and special experience.
Roberto Pesce, Manager
Raised in a family of merchants, Roberto has always had a desire to discover new cultures. After 10 years spent in Australia, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, and Ireland, always working in kitchens, from Irish pubs to Michelin-starred Italian restaurants, he never forgot his roots. His passion for perfection, customer satisfaction, and high-quality wine led him to move to the dining room, where he carefully and attentively manages service, ensuring that every Cumà experience is impeccable. All the knowledge acquired throughout his journey is now shared and put at the service of the team and customers, combining experience in Italian cuisine, a passion for wine, professionalism, and attention to detail.
Axel James Cuevas Coruno, Cook
Born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, Axel moved to Italy at a young age. After 10 years of experience in Italian cuisine, he fell in love with the country and its culinary traditions. He decided to bring his knowledge to Switzerland, where he now prepares the majority of Cumà’s dishes, putting passion, care, and creativity into every plate. Working alongside Roberto, they form a unique and winning duo, combining experience, professionalism, and attention to detail to deliver a memorable Cumà experience every day.
